Branching out into the web music fray…

Our subsidiary My Music–Your Music.net, which is intended to be a channel that will feature music videos, shows (those produced by OSF, as well as by others) and feeds is now live, but still VERY much under construction (so be kind, but still feel free to give us feedback!) We will keep you posted on the progress of this project as it develops…

Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner!

Our short film, AUDITION, is officially registered in the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner…and yeah, we’re pretty excited!!!

Help me (and others) produce the 1-Second Film!

iJustine’s Oprah touch strikes again, but definitely for a worthwhile cause: we just signed on as a producer of the 1-second film, and you can too! Read about this non-profit venture here. You can donate to another producer’s profile or create your own. Proceeds from the film will be donated to the Global Fund for Women. Best of luck to these guys!

what’s new

We here at Olive Street Films are considering taking a new direction. Based on the growing use and popularity of the read/write web (aka “Web 2.0″) and the explosion of web media, we are planning a move to produce and distribute more online media content…which means, big changes to the website (I haven’t told this to Kathleen, our webmaster, yet, so I hope she doesn’t kill us!) and to the way we interact with you, the audience. More details to follow, but we feel this will be a positive change.

In the meantime, we just bought a FlipVideo camera (thanks to iJustine, who seems to have the Oprah touch when it comes to new tech products!), so plan to see more content using that vehicle soon as well. Let’s hear it for low tech, low-fi art!

Well, I did it. I entered us in SXSW, barely in time for the deadline. Wish us luck, once again…

film festival update:

AUDITION has been entered in 10 different national film festivals so far!

(HOOP SATURDAY has been entered in one as a co-entry, but thats only because most festivals require that the film was made during 2007.) Anyway, wish us luck!
