moving to a new location…

No, not the company, but the blog…We have officially moved the Olive Street Films Blog from our former wordpress site to Posterous, thanks to lots of encouragement from Garry and other posterous peeps. While we love the cool templates of WordPress and all, the difficulty in being able to embed videos (not impossible, mind you, but very needlessly cumbersome) and pther such media makes it not very practical for a film production company to host their site here. True, WP dot com is free, but so is Posterous, and I can do more with less aggravation on their blogs. The interface is very simple, but that’s a good thing. Sorry, guys. Take a long hard look at your competition and see what they’re doing right.
To ur fans: thanks for your support, and we’ll see ya over at Posterous.

love,
Olive Street Films

Post-production is finished!

Here’s a recent music video we worked on, with the help of some great people at NYFA:

a little something different

I normally don’t share my student’s film on this site, but a couple of guys in my Film class made this video; it’s definitely a first video, but I thought they had a lot of creative and funny ideas, so I’m posting it here. If you like it, give it a thumbs up! Thanks!

back from Cannes!

palais…and it was SO worth it, even if only for a couple of days! Met some cool people, saw some great shorts, but coolest of all was watching our little short in a screening room at the Palais des Festivals! All you struggling filmmakers out there, DON’T give up…believe in yourself, and you can be here, too!

see you at Cannes!

we’ll be at Cannes from May 23 to 25…had to book late due to work obligations, but we’ll be there for the tail end of the festival! Let us know if you’ll be around the Palais!

new live video

Some video we shot recently at a local “Battle of the Bands”, featured on our sister site, mymusicyourmusic.net. Also, be sure and check out a great new way to make quick music videos: animoto.com!
